  Excellent service. The food was fresh, and well prepared. Prices are very reasonable. We enjoy finding these gems in small towns as we day trip around Ontario. Good selection on the menu and they serve any item, breakfast, lunch or dinner anytime. Owner dropped by the table to make sure we were enjoying our meal. We will be back! (Note, I read the review here about a ham sandwich... must be the wrong place... that does not describe the Village Cafe at all)

  Great food and service. We were travelling to ottawa and had to stop for gas and we were hungry. Found this cute place on google maps. Unsure if we should bother because we read the previous review, so we asked for a ham and cheese which they do not sell nor have they ever. We ordered from the menu where all items were priced and chose eggs benedict and a sirloin burger. Shame on the other reviewers for writing about the wrong place.

  We really like it here, and try to eat breakfast here whenever we are eating out from home. I would give it 4.5 stars, but google won't let me. It's excellent for what it is. A family run cafe in a small town. I've tried several different breakfast entrees, and have never been disappointed. The girls that are serving are super friendly and nice, and the cook has always come out to make sure that everything is satisfactory. I love the eggs Benedict, and the peameal is great, but the homefries are deep fried. They are good for deep fried potatoes, but not as good as pan fried in my opinion. Give it a try, you won't regret it.

  Very Expensive, poor quality. So my lovely girl partner an I were on a drive through Highway 2 country, this little diner was on the way so we stopped for some coffee to hold us over. We get in, it's an average looking diner, small town two coffees for a buck thirty three, an we're about to take off when the guy behind the counter makes 4 attempts to get us to order a sandwich, I'm not all that hungry but I order a Ham and Cheese Sandwich for us to split. The "sandwich" was made of 3 ingredients and the size of a childs hand, wait for it, FOR NINE DOLLARS. I get the bill for 13 dollars an at this point I realize none of the food items have their prices labelled. The owner makes his living pressure selling expensive below average food to make a quick buck off travelers. I would only recommend the Village Cafe to you if I hated you.
